Two Bioethics seminars for adults will be held during September and October on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM.
Sister Malia Grace Reed O.P. will present The Human Person: A Philosophical Prospective, and Wyatt Parks, a Bioethics faculty member, will present Bioethical Issues at the Beginning of Life. Admission is free.

JP Summer Camps collected 299 pounds of food for the Catholic Charities summer camps food drive!

On April 29, John Paul the Great became the founding school of the National Catholic Bioethics Honor Society. An induction ceremony was held and a group of students became the first members of this extraordinary new Honor Society.

Congratulations to recent graduates Audrey Iglesia and Andrew Parker who have received Cappies nominations for their performances in the JP Drama Fall Play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream!"
Audrey has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Female Role for her portrayal of Titania, and Andrew has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Male Role for his portrayal of Puck. Congratulations Audrey and Andrew!

The John Paul the Great Track and Field Teams competed in the Virginia State Catholic Track and Field Championships at Paul IV High School on Saturday, May 11. The boys' team won, and the girls finished third.

The John Paul 4x800m relay team recently competed at the New Balance Nationals and set a new school record! The relay team of Juniors Elijah Thompson and Nick Bouril, Sophomore Alex Everson, and Senior Gus Howard won their section in a time of 8:04.09 to place them 25th overall out of 75 teams. Bouril’s split of 2:01.19 and Howard’s split of 1:58.78 were personal best times for the 800m and the school’s first time competing in this national meet.

On Friday, April 26, 2024, the Saint John Paul the Great community gathered to dedicate a new theater lightboard in honor of Jason Brunsman, JP Class of 2022. Jason passed away in a car accident in the early morning of February 14, 2024. Jason was a dedicated drama technician during his time at John Paul.

Audience members set record-breaking attendance numbers at the weekend performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Congratulations to the cast and crew that presented the colorful and exuberant musical.

All are invited on Saturday, May 4th for our Fine Arts Celebration! The week begins with our Spring Musical, April 26-28, followed by our Spring Concert, May 2, and finalizing with our Evening of the Arts, May 4th from 4:30-7:30 pm.
The capstone event will feature Hamlet readings, Senior solos, a pot-luck dinner with a JP Musical review of the last 4-years, and a visual art exhibit!
