Academic Support Program
Students struggling with academics for various reasons are welcome to enroll in Academic Support Classes. It is designed for students with mild learning disabilities, other health impairments, and executive functioning deficits who would benefit from support from an academic teacher during their school day.
Academic support offers a flexible curriculum of study strategies and organizational skills. It is also an opportunity for students to receive assistance with test preparation and assignment completion. Teachers work with students to prioritize assignments, plan for projects, and communicate with teachers to ensure academic success. Student grades are frequently monitored. Students needing extra time to complete their tests and quizzes can also complete them in the ASP classroom.
Academic Support students enjoy a maximum ratio of 18:1 for this course, and it is offered on a semester-basis, both for credit and for non-credit purposes. Decisions regarding credits are decided on an individual basis.
