Welcome

“Catholic education aims not only to communicate facts but also to transmit a coherent, comprehensive vision of life, in the conviction that the truths contained in that vision liberate students in the most profound meaning of human freedom.”
– Pope Saint John Paul II

Thank you for your interest in the academic program at Saint John Paul the Great. We are here to help you understand our educational program, the courses we offer, and the three levels of study established in each of the core disciplines. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and challenging academic program that prepares students to succeed in college and life while having a fun, meaningful, and positive high school experience.

John Paul challenges each student at the appropriate level in various subjects. The accredited college-preparatory curriculum is a rigorous course of study in the required fields of Bioethics, Religion, English, Mathematics, Science (all labs), Social Studies, World Languages, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and Communication and Media Arts. Course placement is determined by students’ demonstrated achievement and ability, as indicated by grades in pre-requisite classes, standardized test scores, and teacher recommendations.

Three levels of study:

  • Academic: Academic level courses designed to meet the needs of students who desire a college preparatory curriculum.
  • Advanced: Advanced level courses designed to meet the needs of students who desire a college preparatory curriculum, who can complete tasks with minimum supervision, and who have demonstrated an above-average level of aptitude and achievement.
  • Honors and AP: Honors and AP level courses designed to meet the needs of students who want an advanced college preparatory curriculum, who are highly motivated, and who have demonstrated a high level of responsibility, aptitude, and achievement. Students work more independently while exploring principles and concepts in greater depth.

We are available to answer any questions you may have about our curriculum and look forward to meeting you soon.
