Summer Information

Summer is a time for much-needed rest and relaxation, but if your student is starting at a new school in the fall, there are also many things you are trying to sort out!

At JP, we work to provide you information in a sensible, chronological manner to make your transition into the Wolfpack as smooth as possible. Please read the general timeline below for the basics of ‘what to expect’ after you have committed for your student to attend John Paul and before the first day of school!

June: Our Registrar’s Office receives all final transcripts and our Counseling Department begins to review new student files to build schedules. Summer reading information is communicated. Families are offered to join a ‘carpool list’ for families interested in connecting.

July: A ‘summer packet’ is emailed to all new families with great information on orientation dates and expectations, new parent nights, uniform and book purchasing (and a used uniform and book sale!), how to prepare for high school athletics, tryout schedules, etc. The Counseling Department continues to work on schedules.

August: Course Listings are communicated to families via our online portal, account access to Google and Powerschool is provided, tryouts begin, and orientations take place. JP completes preparations to welcome your students to a new year of school!
