Student Life

Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School is a place of higher learning, but it is also a place to build lasting friendships through faith experiences, social activities, organized clubs and sports, and service projects.

Students in our inaugural year will have a tremendous opportunity to set the tone, culture, and activities of student life at John Paul the Great…they will lay the foundation for future classes!

Athletics

Please see the Athletics page of our web site.

Extra-curricular Clubs and Activities

Student leaders with energy and great ideas will spearhead special clubs, social committees, sports, and other activities. While some activities have been pre-selected, such as yearbook, drama club, and a school news paper, other activities will depend upon student interest and leadership.

Here are just a few other possibilities for great clubs:

  • Art
  • Band
  • Campus Ministry
  • Chess
  • Computer
  • Debate
  • Economics and Business
  • Foreign Language
  • Literary-Arts and Poetry
  • Liturgy
  • Model Judiciary
  • Multicultural
  • Music
  • National Honor Society
  • Peer Mentor Program
  • Photography
  • Pro-Life Club
  • SADD
  • Spirit Club
  • Student Ambassadors
  • Student Government

…and so much more! What would you like to add to the list of possibilities?

Faith Life

Together we will strive to grow in wisdom and holiness by living lives rooted in Christ, and in accord with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Prayer, devotion, and right-living will not be afterthoughts, but, rather priority elements of our school community. Students and Staff will have opportunities to pray together and alone during Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation services, while on youth retreats and in many other ways and times. We will build community within, so that we can have a positive affect on the community at-large.

Uniforms

Students will have uniforms reflecting the school colors of green, black and white, but they have not yet been finalized. We want to know what the students think! Registered students will be given the opportunity to weigh in on uniform options before school starts. The same is true for choosing a school mascot!
