One reason families choose a good Catholic high school is for a superior education with proven results. Since opening in 2008, Saint John Paul the Great, a Catholic and college-prep high school,  has served more than a thousand students, graduated 7 classes, and has been named a Top 50 U.S. Catholic High School (twice) and a Top Virginia High School (twice).

Why are we GREAT?

  • our students score higher than national and state averages on the SAT
  • earn recognition from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (including National Merit Semi-finalists and Finalist Scholars)
  • outperform the majority of their peers on AP exams
  • our graduates have earned seats at Ivy League schools, all top Virginia schools, other top universities, Catholic institutions, and service academies
  • our graduates have been awarded millions in academic scholarships (e.g., Class of 2017 earned $18 million in academic-based scholarships)

We are proud of our students and of the exceptional faculty who help them achieve their personal best. Please explore the programs and achievements that help make this school great, including:
